Leg numbness and pain after LP shunt revisal.
« on: November 02, 2015, 01:09:00 PM »
Hello,
I have had IIH for almost ten years now and had a working shunt for nearly 7 years. But for the past two years have been battling with the doctors to recognise that the shiny was no longer working.
Finally on the 6th of October I had my shunt replaced. Only to have it fail and replaced again a week later when CSF started to leak from both of my wounds !!!
Last night I began to experience severe pain running down my legs from the bottom of my back. And turning my legs numb. None of my painkillers are touching the pain at all.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am waiting on the hospital calling me back !!
Dawn x

I can't offer any advice except the obvious to chase the hospital.
Hope you get some answers soon
