ICP and LP
« on: October 10, 2015, 11:26:28 PM »

I had an LP shunt fitted in July 2013 after one revision I've been almost symptom free up until 3 weeks ago. I've been having bad headaches (and we all know when an IIH'er says bad headache it's bad!!) tiredness, feeling sick, loss of appetite, dizziness and basically feeling like rubbish.

I went to a gp on Tuesday who sent me hospital, my local hospital is not equipped for IIH so I ended up calling my shunt nurse at NHNN in London. I traveled down in pain on Friday and he checked my valve settings. It was fine and unchanged. He upped the setting and said it I don't feel better by Tuesday I'm to call him and arranged to go back in for ICP monitoring.

I am now so scared!! It's Saturday night and I feel no better!! And Google doesn't help. Has anyone else been through this??

Hi Sachs. My girl hasn't had ice monitoring but I know quite a few who have and they say it's ok. One kid prefers icp monitoring to lp. Hope you get some relief soon.
